Packaging Design | Rice Pouches


The Concept.

The rice packaging design aims to introduce various rice dishes and simplify the process of rice cooking for non-frequent rice eaters. Based on study and analysis of user experience and journey mapping, the concept is to package accurate measured single serving amount of rice into individual paper containers, which is designed to be water resistant and allow user to measure add-in water amount.

The Brand.

飯 is traditional Mandarin, pronounced as fàn, means cooked rice and also stand for general meal or food. "The fan" aims to introduce international rice culture and tasty rice dishes to people globally.


Graphic Dev.

Market research and user testing have been applied on analyzing existing products to develop easy use solutions and improve the traditional rice packaging method. Through this process, concept prototypes have been made and tested to define the best size and shape for each individual sachet.


User Guideline.

Suggested cooking recipes and user instruction have apply on the packaging through graphic communication and information architecture to simply the process of reading instruction‭.
